It was not least the ten international congresses with visitors from all over Europe, plus a large number of guests from other continents, that enabled the Congress Center Basel to achieve its best result ever last year and to further consolidate its market position.
All in all, 226 events were held in the 16 congress and conference rooms at the Congress Center Basel in 2011 and were attended by more than 150,000 visitors. This figure takes in 21 international and national congresses with some 25,000 participants, which accounted for a total of 31 event days, including major occasions such as the Annual Conference of the Austrian, German and Swiss Societies for Haematology and Oncology with 4700 guests on 5 days. In the current year, the Congress Center is investing even more money in various building measures in a bid to step up its international alignment still further.
