For some ten years now, the lower floors of the Congress Center Basel have been let out to an eminent watchmaking company. These rooms have now been vacated, because the company is moving into the vicinity of the new exhibition hall in good time for BASELWORLD 2013.
Over the past few weeks, this situation has given rise to speculation that the Congress Center Basel will be taking over the premises that are now empty and using them as meeting rooms for groups in future. There is talk of six to 14 rooms, with fixed installations or rooms designed for variable use, which would be ready by summer 2013. Such an increase in space would provide the Congress Center Basel with additional configuration options and a greater level of flexibility – something that the large number of international congresses would benefit from, in particular.
The Congress Center is not yet issuing a definitive statement on these rumours but will be sending out more information at the appropriate point in time.
