The international reputation enjoyed by the Congress Center Basel (CCB) as an institution makes it essential for it to care for its image in appropriate ways all around the globe. That job has been entrusted to the Marketing & Business Development Team
led by Letizia Elia. It has to perform the important task of making sure that the CCB is strategically booked out at as early a date as possible. One of several instruments for achieving that is to appear at fairs and exhibitions, not just to establish contacts with potential clients but also to foster the international network with our most important partners.
Hand-in-hand with Switzerland Tourism
One such appearance occurred for the CCB halfway through November at the sectoral fair, IBTM World in Barcelona, where it made a presentation on the stand of the Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau (SCIB)
. As a subsidiary of Switzerland Tourism
, it is responsible for around-the-world marketing of seminar destinations on behalf of its parent company. It is thus a key partner for the CCB.
One of those present in person in Catalonia was Yves Senn, who has been an additional member of the CCB team as manager of business development since August 2015. As a networker with ambitious aims, the former assistant manager of the Dalbenloch youth hostel made a positive impression during his first appearance on the international scene already. The young man from Fribourg and his team colleagues met clients and media representatives and presented the advantages of Basel as a congress venue to them.
