Christmas parties are a firm fixture in almost every company's annual calendar, and those in charge frequently devote many months to their planning. Over the past few years, the Congress Center Basel (CCB) has gained increasing popularity as venue for pre-Christmas events, and we now have 10 to 15 such parties to organise each year, for 250 to 1000 guests. And no two events are ever alike.
The advantages of the CCB as a venue are clear to see. With its rooms that can be combined on a modular basis, precisely the right space can be provided for any number of guests and for the particular concept involved. The CCB crew's know-how, acquired over a period of many years, is of benefit to both inexperienced planners and those with highly unusual requests. And, being located in the heart of the city, the CCB is easy to reach by both public and private transport.
"Most of the companies who stage their Christmas events in the Congress Center come back again. One company is celebrating in the CCB for the eighth time already and is now planning up until 2020 with us“, says project manager Vanessa Eckert. The most popular rooms are the San Francisco room and the L’Entrée next to Exhibition Hall 3. With 1000 guests or more, the Event Hall designed by Herzog & de Meuron is right at the top of the list.
The MCH-caterers, Wassermann & Company, offer a broad repertoire of meals to suit all tastes. "And, precisely for Christmas events, particular attention is focused on the decorations. We are even installing a complete Christmas village on our premises this year", says Vanessa Eckert, who is wholeheartedly committed to her work.
