Hall 1

Hall complex designed by Herzog & de Meuron

As of 2013, the three-storey hall complex with the City Lounge constitutes the new centrepiece of Messe Basel. The building, which was designed by Basel architects Herzog & de Meuron, constitutes an extension to Hall 1 which was opened back in 1999. In the southern section of the hall complex on the ground floor the multifunctional Event Hall is located. Access is via the South Foyer, where the cloakrooms are also to be found. A unique inscription system, with an LED strip 112 metres in length, can be specifically adapted to individual events. The Event Hall is linked directly to the restaurant, and has a walkway connecting it to the Congress Center Basel.
